Tabs are a feature that is best utilized in bars, music venues, and the like. This feature is still being developed to work better for our merchants. This Wiki will be updated with new instructions as updates happen.
To start, you should press New Tab. This will wake up the device.
Next, you should insert the card that is to be charged, which will prompt a processing view on the iPad.
The device will say to remove the card and the POS will open into a new check screen.
At this point, you will see a green payment line with an authorization of $1 at the top of the check, as well as the customer name which is automatically assigned to the check details (we hope to add a searchable aspect in the future to help expedite this process).
At this time, you must hang on to the card even though we have authorized it.
When the customer is ready to cash out and you have added additional items to the check, you will run the check as normal.
Once all items have been added to the check, you should then click on the green line, tap adjust, and manually enter the charge total listed at the bottom of the check (Note, this is not an automatic feature yet). Update the charge and close the check. Staff are able to re-enter this check to make tip adjustments later either by reopening the closed check or leaving it open to adjust later. Once the tip adjustment is done, if the check is left open, they should click tap to close after to close and complete the check.
